LARRY
HANSEN is an organizational performance consultant, author,
speaker, and facilitator of strategic change, safety excellence and
organizational improvement. In this capacity, he engages in
organizational assessment, culture change, strategic loss reduction,
and safety excellence leadership facilitation.
His past experience in the insurance industry included Regional S&H
management and Home Office Practice Leadership in Organizational
Performance and Strategic Consulting initiatives.
He is a graduate of the University of New Haven with a bachelor of
science degree in Operations Management and has 38 years of
experience in safety, organizational, and loss management
consulting. Larry is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), holds
the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation from the
Insurance Institute of America, and is a professional member and
past president of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE)
Eastern New York Chapter.
Larry served as vice president and member of the executive committee
of the Minerva Education Institute domiciled at Xavier University,
an organization dedicated to enhancing safety and health in
America’s workplaces through improved curriculum in our nation’s
business schools.
He was the 1992 recipient of the Irwin/Procter & Gamble Best Paper
Award in safety management and received first prize in the ASSE-Veteran’s
of Safety (1993-94) Professional Paper Competition for his work, "Safety
Management: A Call for (R)evolution." His biography is listed in
Marquis’ Who’s Who in Business and Finance.
Larry has developed many unique safety management products including

He presents regularly at state, national, and international events
and has keynoted numerous national association conferences. He has
appeared on GATV’s Safety and Health Lifestyles, a cable television
program. He is one of 30 international faculty selected to present
at the 24th International Risk and Insurance Management conference
in London, England (He has completed a four
city lecture tour in Chile sponsored by the Instituto de Seguridad
del Trabajo.
His writings on safety management and organizational
performance have been published in peer reviewed journals and
professional magazines, including the ASSE Professional Safety
Journal, Occupational Hazards, Risk Management, NCCI Safe Workplace
Magazine, National Safe Workplace Institute Report, Nation’s
Business, Industrial Safety & Hygiene News, Global Risk Manager, and
Global Reinsurance published in London, England.
