Helps the Accidents Go Down.”

After 37 years in accident prevention, I’ve come to one significant conclusion…it’s time to ‘lighten-up’ on workplace safety. Now, I’m not suggesting that the human pain and economic loss of workplace injuries isn’t a serious matter…I’m only citing what performance research (and my personal experience) has confirmed: Companies with low stress and high satisfaction are ‘SAFE’ places to work…also far more productive and profitable!

“A Little Bit of Humor” takes a light-hearted (and truthful) look at the very serious subject of eliminating accidents, injuries, loss, and costs in an organization.

Participants are invited to ‘jump on board’ a people mover (a/k/a change vehicle) that will guide them to eight key ‘points of view’ on a journey to safety excellence. Discovery is often said to be: ‘seeing the same things as others…only thinking differently about them’. In this session, participants will DISCOVER the following about safety excellence:

• VISION – The real target for safety in excellence organizations (Hint…it’s not ‘Zero Injuries’.

• VALUES – The critical need to build ‘shared values’ to negate the need for
  ‘Rules Trolls’.

• COMMUNICATIONS – The need for communicating effectively (passing understanding, not paper) in safety…if you flunk this test, you get an ‘F’.

• LEADERSHIP – Why safety excellence organizations stress personal leadership…What type are you?, and

• The ULTIMATE ACT(s) of excellence…do you do these?

Above all else, the key ingredient of comedy (what’s really funny) is ‘Truth’. This session is excellent for corporate safety conferences, safety recognition and award events and ‘all employee’ safety meetings because it resonates ‘Truths’ applicable to ALL in an organization.
