“Introduction to Operational Safety Excellence"
“Excellence isn’t the opposite of mediocrity…excellence s
different!”
This session introduces line and staff managers to the concepts,
realities, and requisite mind-shifts necessary to achieve safety
excellence performance…and results in an organization.
The program is designed to be a primer on safety excellence
principles, and an introduction to safety excellence strategies. It
previews the case for strategic change in safety, and reviews a
number of guiding principles, proprietary performance models, and
seminar themes addressing safety excellence strategy and
organizational change including:
“The Safety Excellence Trilogy”…a three part seminar series
exploring the core questions of excellence: ‘WHY—WHAT, and HOW’.
-
“Stepping Up
to Operational Safety Excellence”— Answers the WHY
question: “Why do some organizations achieve safety
excellence, while most others struggle to maintain safety
mediocrity?”
-
“A Universal
Model for Safety ‘X’-cellence”—Answers the WHAT
question: What do excellence companies do differently to
achieve safety excellence results?…and
-
“Strategic
Planning for Safety Excellence”—Answers the HOW
question: HOW do excellence organizations go about creating
a Strategic Plan for achieving safety excellence?…the
strategic planning process.
These three ‘strategy’
seminars are complimented by a final tactical session entitled: “ROC
Your Organization to Safety Excellence” a seminar which presents
unique ideas, activities, and initiatives which can be employed in
the pursuit of safety excellence strategy.
This primer on safety excellence also addresses the three levels of
organizational change (transitional, transactional, and
transformational) requisite to achieving better safety outcomes, and
describes the three operational levels at which safety must be
addressed: Safety Technical (Programs), Safety Management (Process)
and Safety Leadership (Culture) to achieve excellence results.
